The CBAF fulfills its mission of fostering and promoting the arts in the Gunnison Valley by administering approximately $10,000 in annual funding to local artists and organizations.

Required Application Information:

  • Artist / Organization biography

  • Brief project summary (300-500 characters)

  • Description of project including: 

    • physical manifestation of work

    • concept/philosophy of the project

  • Images/portfolio of previous creative works - website, etc (if applicable)

  • Projected impact on community and/or sustainability of the project for the future.

  • Estimated Budget breakdown (how will you allocate funds).

  • Project Timeline (please let us know how you intend to complete this project).

Selection Process:

The Crested Butte Arts Festival Board of Directors will review applications and determine which projects to fund based on projected maximum impact, concept and execution strategy. Projects that demonstrate the greatest community enrichment potential, and/or will have sustained community impact into future will have the best chance for funding. Chosen grant recipients will be notified by email by the end of February.
